My name is Maddalena Pennacchia. I was born in Naples in 1966, where I also completed my studies, but I’ve been living in Rome for many years now. My husband is from Rome, that’s why I moved for good to his unique city, where I had arrived in 1990. We have five wonderful children and two unruly cats.
I teach English literature at Roma Tre University (Shakespeare, in particular), but for the Skylark Project I write more creatively.
What moves me? Curiosity. A strong desire to explore and understand how things work. I am afraid I have a wild curiosity: unexpected connections among utterly distant phenomena dangerously attract me. Sometimes I get caught in details.
I’ve always had a passion: singing. However, I did not sing for a long while. More than twenty years. Throughout this time I focused on other goals. I reached them and all of a sudden I realized I missed my voice terribly. Then, one day, the voice came back without notice. I got back to singing with my former stage name Madalena and my debut album is going to be released in October 2021. Its title? Briza!
