Words and Music from Brazil
A concert of Brazilian music
The concert is included within a programme for the dissemination of the Portuguese language and Portuguese-speaking cultures among high-school students of Lazio and Veneto (PCTO). The whole project has been devised and developed by the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures, with the support of the University of Padua’s POT UniSco and the Palladium Foundation. The performance, curated by Maddalena Pennacchia (Roma Tre), springs from a research on the brazilian-jazz genre she conducted with Alessandro Marzi (percussions), Stefano Nencha (guitar) and Stefano Nunzi (bass), whose main output, an album, will be released shortly (AlfaMusic Label&Publishing). The renowned anchorman, translator and writer Max De Tomassi (Rai Radio 1), who is an eminent international expert in the field, will be introducing the varied genre of Brazilian music, with its many cultural and linguistic nuances, to the audience in the theatre and via streaming. Special guest of the event will be the famous jazz flute virtuoso, Nicola Stilo.
